Using the USGS website
We learned that there are 3 different types of plate boundaries.(divergent, convergent and transform)
Choose any type of plate boundary and take a picture of it..
The way to proceed is as follows:
–> Go to https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/map (Links to an external site.) and use the website to find a plate boundary you wish to take a picture of.
In the settings tab (Gear icon on the top right), select ’30 Days, Magnitude 2.5+ US’ to show the seismicity from the last month. (Click ‘continue anyway’ if you see a warning message.)
Increase the time span via the “Search Earthquake Catalog” function in the menu (gear icon, upper right) if you don’t find enough events.
You can enable the plate boundaries to be drawn by clicking the Layers button (upper right, in grey) and selecting “Plate Boundaries”
Capture/Screenshot an image of this area and insert it in your document, and answer the following questions:(a) Name the type of plate boundary shown in your figure and where it is located. (what country/countries are around it?)(b) how many earthquakes are displayed on your map(c) the magnitude of the largest event(d) the depth range of the earthquakes
An example picture that serves as a reference is attached:
